Panasonic announced yesterday (5/11/09) that they have started to tender an offer for Sanyo Electric company. The offer is estimated at around £2.6 billion. If the deal goes through, Panasonic could become one of the world’s biggest electronics manufacturers. The phone system and plasma TV manufacturer will hopefully be purchasing over 50% of Sanyo’s shares, the aim being to acquire Sanyo’s green businesses.
