At the start of this week, Moody’s Investors Service (financial research and analysis company) lowered its corporate rating for Avaya, one of the leading phone system and software manufacturers. The downgrade is apparently due to Avaya’s recent purchase of Nortel Enterprise Solutions. Although Moody’s believes that this will increase Avaya’s profile, the challenges facing Avaya to incorporate Nortel and the amount of debt caused by the acquisition has led them to lower the rating. Bad luck Avaya.
