Avaya, a top phone system manufacturer, has been handed the heavy honour of providing all of the video, voice and data traffic technology for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the Paralympic Games.

Avaya’s technology, which has long been a favourite for business phone systems worldwide, will provide a converged solution that will power traffic on the Bell Olympic network. As well as supporting around 5,500 personal communications and 25,000 communications from volunteers, the Avaya technology will have to support approximately 1 million visitors in different venues over rugged terrain.
