A poll conducted by the China Youth Association for Network Development has found that one in seven young internet users in China are actually addicted to the internet – a total of 24 million youths. Although the definition of internet addiction has yet to be properly defined, experts agree that anyone whose life is negatively affected by the internet (such as failing grades or relationships) or anyone who feels depressed when not online, is more than like addicted to broadband.

Parents in China are resorting to desperate measures in order to cure their kids of internet addiction – some even going as far as to send their children to secret internet rehabilitation camps, where one young boy of 15 was beaten to death only recently. Beware becoming caught in the net!
