Pre-commercial trials of a LTE (Long Term Evolution) mobile network have just been launched in Turin, Italy by Telecom Italia. The trials will use 14 new LTE base stations that are dotted around the city centre along with the current mobile infrastructure. According to Telecom Italia, the new LTE network offers a 140Mbps bandwidth capacity per cell and allows users to manage three voice or data connections concurrently.
