BT has once again changed the goalposts on its super-fast broadband roll-out. Now BT is saying that it plans to 10 million abodes by 2012 – just in time for the Olympic Games. The end of 2010 should see 4 million homes with the new fibre-to-the-premises technology. A spokesman for BT has said that due to successful trials, they can now up the estimate.
Fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology should offer most customers up to 100Mbps speeds which will also be extremely beneficial to businesses and rural areas.
