GlobeNet and Alcatel-Lucent have recently completed the second upgrade of the 22,000km submarine cable system that links Latin America and the United States of America. The cable has been upgraded twice in the past 18 months, enabling upgraded broadband service.

Due to the new upgrade of the submarine fibre optic cable, GlobeNet will be able to offer over 110Gbs of capacity. In addition to this, Alcatel-Lucent was able to upgrade the landing points in various locations in the US and Latin America.
